siteblock.jpgThe security settings for guests and children should also be set to maximum so as to prevent the downloading of malware which also affects your accounts even if you don’t have any knowledge of them. Have a reputable virus scanner and if possible internet protection included which filters infected email, music and other files which can download dangerous payloads onto the computer. Regularly inspect and clean away un-needed files so you don’t run out of space on your hard drive. Schedule regular scans for anti-viruses so you don’t get any surprises in your system catching them and promptly removing them, you can also schedule regular scans that execute when activity is low say you go on a coffee break..
Education is the key and a child who learns the value of the internet early on will fare better as they progress in their use of the internet. Keep them safe and tell them to inform you of any bizarre activity they observe as they use their accounts to prevent them from getting into trouble as they surf the net in the safest way possible.
