To make the home computer safe for all to use, get all of those who need and want to use the computer their own personal account for which they would be responsible for. Say one for you and your wife and others for your children. Give them their rules and regulations as to when and how they will use the internet and install site blocking software that prevents your child from entering listed sites which may not be good for them. Also keep them out of your accounts and encourage them to use their own accounts so you can monitor their progress and activities. Activity loggers, are software that monitors use and sites that they visit allowing you to do a complete audit of their sites and activities with some even having site blocking functionality. Educate kids on which are allowed and not when using them and limit their times so their curiosity doesn’t get the best of them.
